Mrs. Helen Schactlie Dies At Hospital
Mrs. Helen Schactlie died at the Grundy hospital shortly after midnight Tuesday. She had been residing in Grundy Center. The body is at the Ferree Funeral Home, where funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Burial will be in the First Reformed church cemetery, three miles west of Wellsburg.
Mrs. Schactlie was 84 years old. Her obituary will appear in next week's register.

Services Friday For Mrs. Schactlie
Services were at Ferree funeral home Friday afternoon for Mrs. Helen Schactlie, who died in the Grundy hospital on October 20th. The service was conducted by Rev. Duane Heap, pastor of the First Presbyterian church in Grundy Center. Burial was in the cemetery of the First Christian Reformed church west of Wellsburg.
Mrs. Schactlie had surgery Oct. 6 at the Grundy Memorial hospital for a fractured hip. She had resided at the Countryside Nursing Home about a month.
Music at the service was by Mrs. Carl Palmer. Casketbearers were Wm. Groote, Lindsey Watkins, Will Hartman, W. T. Heckt, Tim Dudden and Glenn Dew.
Mrs. Schactlie was born Feb. 22, 1881, at Steamboat Rock. She was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Neessen of Colfax township. She grew up on her parents' farm. She and her husband lived in Wellsburg during their married life. Her husband Joe died in 1942. Twenty years ago she moved to Grundy Center.
Surviving are two nieces, Mrs. Esther Meier Lyle, Mountain Home, Arkansas, and Mrs. Ernest Larson, Long Beach, Calif. and one nephew, Vincent Meier, Port Washington, New York.
