Services Today For Mrs. W. H. Bakker

Funeral services will be held this afternoon, Thursday, Oct. 14, at 1:30 p.m. at the Lincoln Center Christian Reformed Church for Mrs. W. H. Bakker. Mrs. Bakker passed away Monday morning at 3:35 a.m. at the Sartori Memorial hospital in Cedar Falls, where she had been a patient 10 days following surgery.

Tillie Dieken was born in Grundy county, Dec. 20, 1882, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dieke J. Dieken. She was married to Walter H. Bakker on Jan. 9, 1907 in Colfax Township in Grundy County. The couple farmed in Lincoln township during the early years of their married life. They retired to Grundy Center 26 years ago. In November of 1958 they moved to Dike. Mr. Bakker passed away on Aug. 24, 1965.

Mrs. Bakker is survived by four daughters: Mrs. George Dudden, Mrs. Theodore Gerdes, Sr., and Mrs. Joe DeBerg, of Dike and Mrs. Harvey Tapper of rural Grundy Center; one brother, D. D. Dieken of Grundy Center and 9 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sisters and one brother.

The body was brought to the Engelkes Funeral Home in Grundy Center and on Tuesday to the Dike Funeral Chapel where is was to remain until Thursday noon. Burial is to be in the Lincoln Center cemetery.
