Reiner Ellingrod, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bernhard Ellingrod, was born September 17, 1879, in Gross Oldendorf, Germany and passed away very suddenly at the Lutheran Home, Cedar Falls, at 1 a.m. Wed., Sept. 15th having reached the age of 85 years, 11 mos. and 20 days.

He came to Parkersburg with his family in 1892. He grew up in this vicinity and later farmed here. He never married. In November 1961 he became a resident of the Lutheran Home in Cedar Falls where he lived until his death.

He was baptized in the Christian faith in Germany and confirmed that faith in Bethel Lutheran church, Parkersburg. He was a member of Bethel until recently when he was transferred at his own request to St. John Lutheran Church, Cedar Falls, where he was accepted into membership just the evening before his death.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and four brothers and four sisters.

He is survived by his brother John, Parkersburg, and numerous nephews and nieces.

Funeral services were held on Monday, Sept. 20th at 1:30 p.m. at Bethel Lutheran church, Parkersburg, with Rev. Russell W. Schilling, officiating. Interment was in Salem Lutheran cemetery, Parkersburg, under the direction of the Engelkes Funeral Home, Parkersburg.
