Mrs. Will Beckman Died In N. Home

Mrs. William Beckman died last Wednesday evening at the Countryside Nursing Home in Grundy Center, where she had been a resident several months. She was 75 years old. She had been in poor health for a number of years.

The body was taken to the Ferree funeral home where arrangements were made. A committal service was held at the Beckman mausoleum in the Grundy Center cemetery at 10:30 on Friday forenoon. Rev. Duane Heap, pastor of First Presbyterian church, officiated at the service.

Mrs. Beckman's maiden name was Savilla Galbraith. She was born in Grundy Center Nov. 26, 1888. She was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Malcolm Galbraith. Before her marriage she taught the Lynn school four miles southwest of Grundy Center.

On October 27, 1909, she and William Beckman were married. They resided on a farm near Grundy Center until 1923, when they moved to Reinbeck. From 1947 to 1954 the couple resided in Cedar Falls. Since that date they have lived in Grundy Center.

Surviving are the husband, one daughter, Mrs. Plaetus Arnold, Grundy Center; one son, Malcolm, Cedar Falls; one sister, Mrs. Louis Warren, Leland, Mich.
