John Leffler Dies Sick Past Year

John Lawrence Leffler died at 7:30 Tuesday morning at the Grundy hospital where he had been a patient since last December. He was 74 years and 10 months old.

The body was taken to the Ferree Funeral Home where funeral arrangements were made.

Services will be at 2 o'clock on Thursday afternoon at the First Baptist church, Grundy Center. Rev. Milton Dowden from Reinbeck will conduct the service. Burial will be in the Grundy Center cemetery.

John Leffler was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Lorenze Leffler. He was born at Peru, Ill., June 27, 1890. He came to Grundy county with his parents when he was a small boy. The family lived on a farm a mile east of Holland, where the children grew up.

John Leffler and Okkea Bonk were married December 26, 1912. They started life together on one of the Reynolds farms northeast of Grundy Center, where they resided 17 years. They also occupied other farms in the county for a number of years. They moved to Grundy Center in 1942, which has since been their home.

Surviving are the wife; one son, Hal, of Frankfurt, Germany; one grandson, Mike; one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Hildebrand, Columbia, Mo.; two brothers, Christ of Sioux Falls and Ray of Lake Crystal, Minn. Preceded in death by parents and two brothers.
