Mrs. J. Rabenberg Died Last Thursday

Mrs. John Rabenberg died at her home in Grundy Center last Thursday. She had been in failing health during the past three years. She was 74 years old.

The body was taken to the Engelkes funeral home where arrangements were made. Services were at Bethany Presbyterian church in Grundy Center at 1:30 Saturday afternoon. The service was conducted by Rev. A. J. Straatmeyer. Burial was in the Grundy Center cemetery.

Mrs. Rabenberg was born at Ellsworth, Minn., Oct. 4, 1890. Her maiden name was Gesina Nolte. She was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Nolte.

On Sept. 11, 1912, Gesina Nolte and John Rabenberg were married at Ellsworth, Minn. They resided on the Rabenberg farm six miles north of Grundy Center for six years. Then for two years they resided in Grundy Center, followed with 16 years at Woden, Iowa. The past 30 years they resided in Grundy Center.

Surviving are the husband and five children. The children are Irvin, Des Moines; Burdette, Waterloo; Mrs. Kathryn Jensen, Waterloo; Harvey, Des Moines; Mrs. Warren Behrends, Waterloo.

There are five grandchildren.

Other surviving members of her family are three brothers and two sisters. The brothers are John Nolte, Adrian, Minn.; Fred Nolte, Ellsworth; Charles Nolte, Adrian, Minn. The sisters are Mrs. Henry Siemer, Ellsworth, Minn., and Mrs. Chester Ketelboeter, Brookings, South Dakota. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and two sisters. One son died in infancy.
