Came From Moline In Morning--Died In Afternoon
Mrs. Statton died at the home of her sister, Mrs. C. S. Fearer in Lincoln township at 2:30 yesterday afternoon. She came here from Moline, Illinois, in the morning intending to make her home here. Mrs. Fearer went to Moline Monday and accompanied her sister on the return trip. Mrs. Statton passed through a serious siege of pneumonia two months ago. This was followed by an attack of tuberculosis which was the cause of her death. Though the trip from Moline to this city tried her she was so anxious to come that she didn't seem to mind it much. Her condition showed no signs of seriousness until a few hours before her death.
Mrs. Statton was 48 years old. Her husband died three years ago. There are no children.
Funeral services will be held at the Methodist church in this city Friday afternoon at two o'clock. The remains will be buried here.
