Mrs. Okke Weseman Dies Suddenly Tuesday Morning

Mrs. Okke Weseman died suddenly at her home in Grundy Center about 8:30 o'clock Tuesday morning from heart trouble, with which she had been afflicted several years. She had not been well for a week and on Monday evening the family doctor was called. Her condition was not serious enough to alarm the family. A final heart attack came on the next morning and she passed away before the doctor could reach her.

Mrs. Weseman was 42 years, 8 months and 16 days old. She was born in Lincoln township, this county, and lived here all of her life. Her maiden name was Louise Graves. She was a daughter of John Graves Sr. She was married to Okke Weseman 21 years ago. Part of her married life was spent on the farm. Later the family lived in Wellsburg and Grundy Center.

Surviving are the husband and four children. The children are Jeanette, who is teaching school at Lincoln No. 9, Cuma who is 14, Delmer 10, and Roger, 4. Other relatives are the father, two sisters, Mrs. Christ Sparenborg and Mrs. John Heronimus; four brothers, John, Tom Henry and George Graves, all of Grundy county.

Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon with a prayer service at the house at 1:00 p.m. and services to follow at the First German Presbyterian church. Rev. K. J. Stratemeier will officiate.

Mrs. Weseman, having formerly belonged to the Lincoln Center church, united with the First German Presbyterian church in 1922. She welcomed the comfort of God's Word and passed on declaring her confident belief in Jesus as her personal Savior.
