Former Grundy Resident Dies In Sutherland
Will Plager, who for many years was a resident of Grundy county, died at his home in Sutherland from dropsy. He had been sick about three years.
Mr. Plager spent his early life in Grundy county, coming here when a boy from Freeport, Ill. He was next to the youngest of the family. He worked in a store and was married in Grundy Center. He left here about 35 years ago and was engaged in business at Eldora for a short time, after which he went to Sutherland and started a general mercantile store. Later he took in Clint Price as a partnership. After this partnership was severed he continued the business alone at Sutherland until he retired a few years ago. He was 65 years old.
Surviving relatives are the wife, one son, who is practicing law in New York, and a daughter, who lives at Sutherland. Other relatives are one brother and two sisters.
Funeral services were held at Sutherland Tuesday forenoon, after which the remains were taken to Grundy Center to the home of Mrs. Plager's sister, Mrs. S. F. Price, at the Columbia hotel. A brief funeral service was held Wednesday before burial was made in the Grundy Center cemetery.
