18 Months' Old Boy At Reinbeck Died Wednesday

Gaylen Ray, eighteen months old son of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Schmidt died at the family home at Reinbeck Wednesday morning after an illness of practically his entire brief life. Afflicted with a mastoid infection, the baby spent several months at the University hospital at Iowa City where several operations were performed with no success. The child was brought home last fall when it seemed that nothing could be done to help him.

The baby was born June 23rd, 1931 in Reinbeck. He is survived by his parents and an older brother, Richard, and by his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Lauer, and a host of other relatives.

Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at two o'clock at the Gange Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. O. F. Koch, pastor of St. John's Lutheran church.
