Mrs. Harm Meester Died At Ellsworth Last Wednesday

Mrs. Harm Meester died at her home in Ellsworth, Minn., last Wednesday evening. She had been in failing health during the past year and was confined to her bed for eight weeks preceding her death.

Funeral services were held at Ellsworth Saturday. The remains were sent here for burial. They arrived here Sunday evening and were taken to the home of the son, Eilert Pruis in the north part of Colfax township. Funeral services were held at the Pruis home at one o'clock Monday and later at Drake's church with the local pastor in charge. Burial was in the Drake church cemetery.

Mrs. Meester was 78 years old. She was one of the early residents of Grundy county. Her first husband died here. Later she was married to Mr. Meester, and they resided on the farm where the Tjepkes family now live a short distance north of Drake's church. 37 years ago Mr. and Mrs. Meester moved to Ellsworth near which place they resided on a farm for many years. Mr. Meester died eight years ago. Since that time Mrs. Meester lived alone in her home at Ellsworth.

Mrs. Meester was twice married. Surviving from the first marriage is one son, Eilert Pruis. Her surviving step-children are John F., Joe, Ike, and Dan Meester and Mrs. Dick Meyer.
