Early Whitten Resident Dies From Heart Failure

M. W. Jacky died very suddenly at his home in Whitten. Heart failure was the cause. He died during the night without giving any warning and his lifeless body was found by the family in the morning.

Mr. Jacky was 63 years old. He was born in Ontario, Canada, August 15, 1868. At the age of eight years he came with his family to Whitten. At the age of 21 he went to Nebraska and later located on a farm near Hay Springs in that state.

He leaves to mourn his loss one brother, G. M. Jackey, of Whitten, and a host of friends in Nebraska, besides his old associates and neighbors in and around Whitten.

G. M. Jacky and wife and daughter Maud, of Whitten, and two nieces and one nephew of Drumheller, Canada, being the only survivors of a family of ten children.

The funeral services were held at the Methodist church at Whitten. Rev. F. C. Griewe officiated. Burial was in the Benson cemetery. The pallbearers were Ezra and Fred Long, Bert Haxton, Geo. Landes, Will Sisson and Alva Price. Flower bearers were Mesdames Fred Long and Effie Nakken. Singers, R. R. Eggleston, Mrs. E. Stokley, Mrs. G. Eggleston and H. R. Hauser, with Mrs. H. R. Hauser at the piano.

John Roberts of Hay Springs, Neb., a friend of Mr. Jacky, accompanied the body here, bringing also a beautiful floral piece, and with this message: "The friends and business associates of the late Wm. Jacky wish to express to the relatives their sincere sympathy and we are sending a floral offering to show in a small way the esteem and respect in which he was held by the people of Hay Springs. His integrity as a business man and his loyalty as a friend and citizen, leaves a memory which will long live in the heart of this community." Sign-by 60 business men and citizens of Hay Springs, Neb.
