Lubert Eiten was born September 16, 1863 in Stephenson county, Illinois.

He came with his parents to Iowa at the age of one year, locating at Wellsburg, Grundy county, Iowa.

In the year of 1885 he was united in marriage with Miss Etje Harms. To this union four children were born, 2 sons and 2 daughters. One son died in infancy.

Mr. Eiten was a member of the Presbyterian church at Steamboat Rock for many years.

He died in his home April 4, 1932, at the age of 68 years, 6 months and 19 days.

He is survived by his wife and 3 children, George Eiten and Mrs. Gertie Geersema, living with the mother, and Mrs. H. J. Rindels, living in Steamboat. He is also survived by 3 grandchildren, and two sisters, Mrs. Harm Meyer and Mrs. A. C. Bunger.

"Come unto me, says our Lord Jesus Christ, and I will give you rest."

The funeral was held last Thursday at the Presbyterian church in Steamboat Rock, Rev. F. Zissler, the present pastor, conducting the services, assisted by Rev. Swyter.

Interment was made in the Reformed cemetery near Wellsburg.

A host of relatives and friends gathered for the services.

The pallbearers were: A. H. Kruse, W. L. Berends, H. U. Rieter, H. E. Baker, A. J. Frerich and S. A. Luiken.

Lubbert Eiten Funeral Thursday

Funeral services for Lubbert Eiten, who died at his home east of Wellsburg from cancer a week ago were held at the Presbyterian church at Steamboat Rock last Thursday. The service was in charge of the local pastor, Rev. Kruse. Burial was made in the Bode church cemetery west of Wellsburg.

Mr. Eiten was 68 years old. He is survived by three children, Mrs. Geo. Gersema, Mrs. R. Rindels and George Eiten.
