-----------------------------------------------
Alice Genevieve Claassen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Claas Claassen, was born in Colfax township on September 14th, 1922. She passed away at the home of her parents on Tuesday morning, March 29th. The little one was an invalid from birth. While she had been with them only a few years she endeared herself to the members of her immediate family, with whom she will always remain as a cherished memory.
Funeral services were held at Drake's church Friday afternoon and there was a very large attendance. The local pastor, Dr. Drake, delivered a sermon in English. Rev. Heinrich, pastor of the Shiloh township Lutheran church, spoke in German language.
The pallbearers were Grace Schmidt, Caroline Heronimus, Mae Dirks, Lorraine Meyer, Deloris and Elma Heronimus. The pallbearers also sang "Listen to the Voice of Jesus."
There's a home for little children,
Above the bright blue sky,
Where Jesus reigns in glory,
A home of peace and joy;
No home on earth is like it,
Nor can with it compare,
For everyone is happy,
And can be happier there.--The Grundy Register (Grundy Center, Iowa), 7 April 1932, pg 7
