Former Dike Woman Died In California Friday
Mrs. John Graham, former wife of the late Dr. W. N. Moffett at Dike, died at her home in Durham, California, last Friday after a short illness. She was about 55 years old.
The body is being sent to Grundy Center for burial by the side of the former husband, Dr. Moffett. The body will arrive here during the night and will be taken to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Charles T. Rogers where funeral services will be held Friday afternoon.
Dr. Moffett died in 1924. His widow was married two years later to John Graham of Waterloo. They left for California within a few months after their marriage and have since lived there.

Funeral Services For Mrs. John Graham Held Friday
Funeral services for Mrs. John Graham were held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Charles T. Rogers Friday afternoon. The services were conducted by Rev. J. B. Bird, pastor of the Methodist church. Many of the former friends and neighbors of Mrs. Graham from Dike were present at the service. Burial was by the side of her first husband in the Grundy Center cemetery.
The pallbearers were Messrs. H. Kelsen, H. Knudsen, L. Ditzler, J. Henningsen and Henry Struntze of Dike, and W. G. Strayer of Hudson.
Relatives from out of town at the service were Mr. and Mrs. James Graham and family, Mr. and Mrs. William Graham and family, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Hay and sons and J. Patterson of Waterloo; Mrs. Ruth Smith, Cedar Falls; Mrs. W. R. Russell, Toledo; Frank Bovey, Cedar Falls; Mr. and Mrs. Ray Martin, Cedar Falls; Miss Ellen Franklin of Waterloo.
Obituary
Esther Snyder was born near Lebanon, Van Buren county, Iowa, October th, 1873.In 1879 she moved to Keosauqua, Iowa, with her parents. She attended high school there. At the age of eighteen she became affiliated with the Christian church at Keosauqua. In 1896 she went to Chicago to take a nurses' training course. She made nursing her life work. In 1899 she was married to Dr. W. N. Moffett. In 1906 they moved to Dike, Iowa, where they lived until Dr. Moffett died in 1924.
In 1926 she was married to Mr. John Graham in Waterloo, and in 1928 they moved to California. They united with the Durham church, where Mrs. Graham was an earnest worker. She was a member of Alta Rebekah lodge, but was unable to attend meetings because of ill health.
Mrs. Graham died Friday evening, June 12, 1931, at the Chico Hospital, California.
She is survived by her husband, one sister, Mrs. Anna Smith of Chico, Cal., one brother, of Good Thunder, Minn., a niece and family residing in Chester, California, Mrs. Ethel Chesney of Durham, California, beside a number of nieces and nephews in Iowa.
