End Comes Suddenly for George Hardie
Passed Away While Asleep at Home of Daughter in Conrad
George Hardie died very suddenly and without warning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. E. C. Anderson, at Conrad at ten o'clock yesterday forenoon. He passed away without warning and while asleep on a lounge. He got up at the usual time yesterday morning, ate a good breakfast and was feeling better than he had been for some time. Some time later he lay down on the lounge to rest and fell asleep and he passed away without awakening. He had been suffering from heart trouble during the past two years. For a number of months he had been making his home with his daughter.
The remains will be brought to Grundy Center this afternoon. Funeral services will be held at the Methodist church at Grundy Center Friday afternoon. Burial will be in the Grundy Center cemetery.
Mr. Hardie would have been 50 years old next August. He was born in Avoca, Iowa, and came here with the family when he was six years old and made his home here almost continually. He followed the business of painting during his active life. His wife died three years ago. Surviving relatives are the daughter, Mrs. Lova Anderson from Conrad, two brothers, Will and Charley, from Minneapolis; two sisters, Mrs. I. A. Baughman of Grundy Center, and Mrs. Edith Wallace from Los Angeles.
