Cornelia Brown Died Saturday
Cornelia Brown died at her home four miles south of Grundy Center last Saturday after a long illness from cancer. Had she lived until the 21st of June, she would have been 90 years old.
LIVED ON SAME FARM 73 YEARS
Cornelia Brown was born in Clinton county June 21, 1866. In 1883 the family moved to Grundy county. They purchased a farm south of Grundy Center, which was Cornelia's home for 73 years. The father of the family had died before they moved to Grundy county. Members of the family at that time were the mother, four sons, and four daughters. Cornelia was the last of the daughters to be taken. There now remains only one of the four sons. He is Alonzo who is 92. The Browns were a family, beloved and respected by all of their neighbors and others who knew them.
Aside from the one brother, Cornelia is survived by a daughter, Mrs. G. H. Bogenhagen, of Cheyenne Wells, Wyoming. Six grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. There are three nieces and five nephews. The daughter was with her mother during the last 13 weeks of her illness.
Funeral services were held at the Ferree Funeral Chapel Tuesday afternoon. The service was conducted by Rev. A. D. Mohr, pastor of the Baptist church. Burial was in the fifteen Mile Grove Cemetery.
