Grandpa Meyer, father of Mrs. K. Miller, died Saturday morning of old age. Funeral will occur at the German Lutheran Church, Wednesday afternoon. Obituary will appear next week.

Uke H. Meyer was born August 15th, 1832, at Osterhausen, Ostfriesland, Germany, and died at his home one mile south of Stout on March 27th, 1914 from the effects of old age. He attained the age of 81 years, 7 months and 12 days.

In the year of 1861, he was united in marriage to Aleid Hempen at Petkum, Germany. The union was blessed with nine children of which four survive the father.

They came to America in the year of 1901, and settled in Grundy County.

Besides his wife, he leaves to mourn two daughters, Mrs. Koert Miller, Mrs. Andrew Ahrenholz, both of Beaver Twp., and two sons.
