Donald H. "Bozo" Vogt, 75 of Gladbrook, Iowa, died Wednesday May 30th 2007, at his residence in Gladbrook, Iowa, of natural causes.

Don was born July 1, 1931 north of Morrison, Iowa the son of Herman A. and Martha J. (Tessau) Vogt. He was raised and educated in the Reinbeck area; graduating from high school with the class of 1949 (The 49'ers). After high school he worked at Rath Packing in Waterloo, Iowa from 1949 to 1950. From 1950 to 1951, he worked on a farm south of Reinbeck for Jim and Marlys Keith. He worked for Ed and Elsie Hoppe near Lincoln from 1951 to 1952. In 1952, Don enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served during the Korean and Vietnam conflict, retiring in August 1972. He served tours of duty in Japan, Thailand, Tucson, AZ and Guam, U.S.A. He was employed by Sears and Roebuck in Marshalltown from 1972 until retiring in July 1993.

In March 1956, Don married his wife Elsie at the Peace Church in Gladbrook. Following his Air Force retirement they lived and raised their family in Gladbrook. Don was a member of the American Legion Action Post 242 and Lincoln AMVET Post #10.

Survivors include his wife Elsie; three daughters Susan and husband David Stawick of Washington D.C., Cheryl and husband Tim Clark of Marshalltown, Iowa, and Dawn and husband Steve Ramsey of Bingen, Washington; a son Michael and wife Maggie Vogt of Des Moines, Iowa; four grandchildren Kristopher and Jamison Ramsey, Amber and Scott Hanford; seven great grandchildren Teyla, Skylar Donald, Shane, Calysta, Keyla and Summer and Jasmine is due to arrive June 12th; his mother Martha Vogt of Reinbeck, Iowa; two sisters: Florence Jones of Dike, Iowa and Donna and husband Eldred Clark of Higgensville, Missouri; and a brother: Leonard "Pony" and wife Barb Vogt of Cherry Valley, California.

Don was preceded in death by an infant son William Michael; his father: Herman A. Vogt; and a sister: Betty Dwyer.
