Boy Dies from Meningitis

Lawrence Edward Frahm, five-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Frahm living northeast of Reinbeck, died suddenly Friday afternoon of spinal meningitis. The boy had been suffering with a slight ear trouble but this was not thought to be serious until Friday morning when the pain became intense. The ailment was diagnosed as meningitis but nothing could stay the disease and death came at three o'clock that afternoon.

It was determined that the meningitis was not of the virulent type and there is little fear that is will spread to other members of the family.

The boy was born in July, 1924, on a farm in the Amity neighborhood where the family then lived. He was a bright, lovable lad and was nearly the completion of his first year in school. He is mourned by his parents and two brothers, one older and one younger.
