Tobias Binder Dead at Conrad

Tobias Binder was born at St. Leon, Dearborn county, Indiana, November 12th, 1854, and passed away Wednesday morning at 8 o'clock, April 30th, 1929, being 75 years, 5 months and 18 days.

In 1880 he came to Arthur, Illinois, where he was united in marriage to Barbara E. Thomas, December 25th, 1881, who preceded him in death, October 31st, 1922. To this union was born one son, John L. Binder of Conrad.

Tobias Binder died at his home in Conrad Wednesday, April 30th, following an illness covering a month from influenza and heart trouble.

Mr. Binder had been a resident of Clay township for 36 years.

Funeral services were held at the Presbyterian church at Conrad Friday afternoon with the local pastor, M. E. Krotzer officiating. Burial was made in the Conrad cemetery.

In 1894 they moved to a farm near Conrad where they resided until 1907 when they moved to Conrad where he has made his home ever since.

December 22nd, 1926, he was married to Myrtle Green, who with one son, John, one granddaughter, Grace Johnson, two grandsons, Franklin and John Jr., all of Conrad, a brother, John Binder, of Connersville, Indiana, a half-brother, Peter Geiling of Brookville, Indiana, a half-sister, Mrs. J. J. Kreidler of Culver City, California, remain to mourn his death.
