Former Grant Resident Dies

Mrs. Matt Miller, former resident of Grant township, passed away early Thursday morning at her home in Waterloo. Mrs. Miller had been in poor health for the last eighteen months. Ten days previous to her death she suffered a stroke from which she never regained consciousness and gradually failed in strength until the end.

Mrs. Miller, who was sixty-three years old, had lived in this county nearly all her life. She was the mother of four children, who with the husband survive her. She was one of eight children and the first of her family, the late Mr. and Mrs. John Saul, Sr., to die. Two sisters and five brothers survive her. These are Mrs. Lizzie Mason, Estherville; Mrs. Mary Mason and James Saul, Waterloo; David Saul, Stuttgart, Arkansas; and Thos. W., George M. and John Saul of Reinbeck.

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the home followed by services in the First M.E. church at Waterloo at 2:00 o'clock. Burial was in the Reinbeck cemetery.
