John Zimmerman died at his home in Lincoln township about five o'clock Saturday afternoon. He had been a sufferer during the past year with cancer, which was the cause of his death. He was confined to his bed most of the time during the past two months.

Funeral services were held at the home at one o'clock Wednesday afternoon and later at the Lutheran church in Holland with the local pastor officiating. Burial was made in the Holland cemetery.

Mr. Zimmerman was 64 years old. He was a native of Germany. He came to this country when a young man and for many years he and his family resided on a farm near Reinbeck. Six years ago they moved to the Steinmeier farm in Lincoln township where they remain until they removed to the Knudsen farm a year ago.

The deceased is survived by his wife and eight children, six of whom are daughters and two are sons. All but one of the daughters are married. The unmarried daughter is at home. One son is at Knoxville, where he is receiving treatments for shell shock that he received during the late war.

The pallbearers at the funeral service were John Stickfort, John Frerichs, Hilko Siebrands, C. Dirks and Joe and Will Itzen.
