S. VanHeiden Dead

Seede VanHeeden was born on December 30, 1882, on the old VanHeiden place in German township, Grundy county. There he grew up to manhood, and from then on he lived in the immediate vicinity of Ackley. In November, 1912, he was united in marriage to Miss Harmina Stubbe. After living a few years in town they moved last spring back to a farm southwest of town.

He died Saturday night, December 29, 1928--reaching an age of about 46 years, lacking a few hours.

There remain to mourn his departure his grief-stricken wife, his brothers, Cobus of Ackley, John of Aplington, Hans of Sheffield, Anton of Ackley, two sisters, Mrs. Jacob Miller of Ackley and Mrs. Harm Tapper of Webster City, his mother-in-law, Mrs. Mooi, and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral service was held on New Year's day, led by Henry Johnson, pastor of West Friesland Presbyterian church, of which Mr. VanHeiden was a member, and assisted by Rev. Seibold of Ackley.
