Early Fairfield Resident Dies at Dike Wednesday
H. L. Henningsen Passed Away After A Long Illness
Came To Grundy Co. Fifty-Eight Yrs. Ago
Deceased Suffered Fall 7 Years Ago From Which He Did Not Fully Recover
H. L. Henningsen died at his home in Dike early Wednesday morning following an illness of several months. He suffered injuries from a fall several years ago from which he did not fully recover. During the past few months he was not able to leave the house.
Mr. Henningsen was 76 years old. He was born in Denmark. He came to this country 58 years ago and located on a farm in Fairfield township. The family resided there until twenty years ago when Mr. and Mrs. Henningsen moved to Dike where they have since made their home.
Mr. and Mrs. Henningsen were married fifty years ago last April. On April 13th of this year they celebrated their golden wedding anniversary.
During his early years in this county and before he was married Mr. Henningsen worked on a farm. About the time of his marriage he bought the farm a mile west of Fredsville which he owned up to the time of his death.
Mr. Henningsen is survived by his wife and eight children. The children are Mrs. Helena Falk, Serenus, Peter J., Carl, Julius, Mrs. Anna Struntze, Hans C. and Mrs. Esther Doepke. Two surviving brothers, L. L. and C. L., live in Dike.
