Christen S. Jensen, age 73, died Tuesday morning at five o'clock at the Allen Memorial hospital of pneumonia after a week's illness. His wife died just one week previous. Christen S. Jensen was born September 23, 1856, in Samso, Denmark. He married Miss Marian Gronsten there and they came to Waterloo 25 years ago. After residing in Waterloo for two years they moved to a farm near Dike where they resided 23 years. They moved to Waterloo again last summer to make their home with their daughter, Mrs. Nels Sorenson.

Mr. Jensen was a member of the Danish Lutheran church of Fredsville, Iowa. Left to survive him are: three sons, George V. Jensen, James C. Jensen of Waterloo, and Ray J. Jensen of Grundy county; two daughters, Mrs. Nels Sorenson and Miss Margaret Jensen of Waterloo, one sister, Mrs. Sena Thompson of Denmark, and 29 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday in the Kearns chapel at 2:30 in the Danish Lutheran church at Fredsville, Reverend Stockholm officiating. Burial will be in the Fredsville cemetery.
