J. A. Frerichs' little boy, aged about one and a half years, died Wednesday morning about four o'clock. The child took sick Monday with intestinal flu.

Carol Maynard Frerichs, youngest child of Mr. and Mrs. John Frerichs, Jr., died at Holland on Wednesday, Jan. 11, at four o'clock a.m. after a two days illness of cholera infantum, at the age of one year, seven months and four days.

Carol was a very bright and lovable child and will be greatly missed by relatives and friends. He leaves to mourn his loss his parents, two brothers, and two sisters, besides other relatives.

Funeral services were held at the Lutheran church at Holland Saturday afternoon and the remains were laid to rest in the Holland cemetery.

Wherefore should we mourn and grieve
Now our darling babe is dead?
He to rest is early gone;
He to paradise is fled.
God forbid his longer stay,
God recalled His precious loan;
He hath taken him away
From our bosom to His own;
Surely what He wills is best--
Happy in His will we rest.

Relatives who attended the funeral from a distance were Dick and Charles Scherfield, Rushmore, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. Omke Scherfield, Mr. Heye Boyenga and daughter, Ackley; Mrs. Donald Sarkey, Cedar Rapids; Henry Frericksen, of Rushmore.
