Mrs. Tack Died Friday

Mrs. Antje Miller Tack, better known as Grandma Tack, died at the home of her son, Sievert Miller, last Friday, following a few months' illness with dropsy. She was 76 years, 6 months and 16 days old at the time of her death.

Mrs. Tack was born at Ditzmalflat, Ostfriesland, Feb. 10th, 1851. She was married to Bernard Miller April 20, 1872. To this union two sons were born, Sievert and Hans. They both live in this county. After four years of married life the husband and father passed away.

Eight years later the deceased was married to Philip Tack, Sept 21, 1884, at Ditzmal, Ostf., Germany. This union was blessed with four sons, Richard, William, Philip and Weyo, who with their families mourn the loss of their mother. Mr. Tack died Feb. 7, 1894.

For the past 33 years Mrs. Tack made her home with her son, Sievert Miller, and family. The deceased, with her family, came to America in the spring of 1892 and located at Aplington.

The funeral was held at the Sievert Miller home Monday, Aug. 29. Interment was in the Siemsen church cemetery. Rev. D. Siemsen and Rev. J. E. Drake had charge of the funeral service. Those in attendance from a distance were Jurgen Raske and family, Renville, Minn.; and Allered and John Eckhof and family, Charles City.
