Mrs. Caroline Fritzel passed away at her home in Grundy Center on Monday evening, August 1st, 1927, at 5:30 o'clock after an illness of fourteen weeks.
Mrs. Fritzel was in her 82nd year and had been a resident of Grundy county for the past fifty-six years, and of this city for thirty-three years. Her husband passed away twenty-three years ago.
The funeral services will be conducted by Rev. F. O. Winslow at the home at 3:30 this (Thursday) afternoon, and interment will be in the Grundy Center cemetery.

Mrs. Caroline Mook was born in Union county, Pennsylvania, Oct. 14, 1845. She came with her parents to Stephenson county, Ill., at the age of 6 years.
She was united in marriage to August Fritzel March 23, 1865, coming to Iowa in 1870 and making their home in Pleasant Valley township, Grundy county. In February, 1893, they moved to Grundy Center where she had since resided.
To this union were born seven children, four boys and three girls: Lenora E., Mary A., Dan J., John F., Pearl E., Oscar A., and Charles D.
On April 27 while performing her usual home duties, she was stricken and fell and sustained a broken hip. For fourteen weeks under the care of a doctor and nurses, she patiently bore her suffering in the hope that she would regain her strength. But all that medical skill and loving hands could do did not relieve her and complications brought her life to a close on Monday evening, Aug. 1, at the age of 82 years and 9 months.
She united with the Evangelical church in 1872 and remained a faithful member at the time of her departure. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother and will be greatly missed by all her loved ones and friends.
She is survived by three daughters and three sons and two brothers. Her husband, August Fritzel, and son, Dan, having preceded her into the beyond.
