German Township Man Dies

Jacob Miller Died Last Friday Following a Short Illness

Jacob Miller died at his home in German township last Friday from bronchial pneumonia. He was sick but a short time.

Funeral services were held at St. Peter's Evangelical church in German township Tuesday afternoon and they were very largely attended. The remains were laid in the family lot in St. Peter's church cemetery.

Mr. Miller was in his 61st year. He was born on November 13th, 1866, in German township, Grundy county, and had made his home there continually from the time of his birth. The Miller family were among the first residents of German township. The place where Mr. Miller died has been the family home of the Millers for upwards of sixty years.

Mr. Miller was married to Miss Hilda Van Heiden on April 2nd, 1890. There were eight children born to this union. Six of the children are living. The children are Heye, Seide, Henry, Arend, Cobus and Mrs. Martin Giesken. The children are all residents of northwest Grundy. Besides these children and the wife, the deceased is survived by one brother, John, of Mission, Texas, and three sisters, Mrs. L. E. Cordes of Ackley, Mrs. George Trey from Parkersburg, and Mrs. H. Leister from Waterloo.
