Former Fairfield Twp. Woman, Mrs. Lehman, Dies

Mrs. Marie Ingeborg Lehman, who resided on a farm in Fairfield township for upwards of 30 years, died Friday at the home of her son Ernest in Cedar Falls where she had made her home for the past few years. She was 95 years old. She was the widow of the late Fred Lehman.

She was born Marie Koborg on July 11, 1856, in Denmark, where she grew to young womanhood and was married to Jens Lehman Nov. 25, 1882. The couple came to the United States in 1886, locating in the Dike vicinity.

Mrs. Lehman was a member of the Fredsville Lutheran church and a member of the Danish Sisterhood. She was preceded in death by her husband many years ago, one son and a brother.

She is survived by two sons: Srnest and Sophus of Cedar Falls; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

A prayer service was held at the Nelson funeral home in Cedar Falls at 1:30 p.m. Monday, followed by a 2 p.m. service at the Fredsville Lutheran church. Burial was in the Fredsville cemetery.
