Heart Attack Ends Jacob Everts' Life

Jacob Everts died quite suddenly at his home on a farm near Dike early Thursday morning. He was stricken with a heart attack Wednesday evening and died at 2:15 the next morning. He was 54 years old.

Jacob Everts was born on a farm in Pleasant Valley township and he grew up there. He was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Everts. He was born on May 16, 1896. In 1923 Jacob Everts and Ella Syhlman were married. They resided on a farm during all of their married life. They lived on the Richmond farm west of Morrison until September of last year when they moved to the farm near Dike.

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the Pleasant Valley Reformed church two miles west of Fern. The services were conducted by the resident pastor, Rev. Paul Schmidt. Burial was in the cemetery adjoining the church.

Surviving are the wife; one stepson, Alvin Sylmann; two daughters, Mrs. Ella Eekhoff, Allison, Tena Mae, at home, and one son, Lester, at home.

There are five surviving brothers: Will, Dike; George, Parkersburg; Dick, Austin, Minn.; Henry, Minneapolis; and John, Grundy Center. One sister, Mrs. J. K. Muller, resides in Dike.
