Mrs. Ensminger Dies at Reinbeck

Mrs. Gertrude Ensminger, a lifetime resident of Grundy county, died at the home of her sisters in Reinbeck early Sunday morning following an illness of several months. She was 71 years, 5 months and 29 days old.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon in the Morrison Presbyterian church and were conducted by Rev. Christian Haupt, acting pastor of the Morrison church. Burial was made in the Grundy Center cemetery beside that of her late husband.

Mrs. Ensminger, the daughter of Ross and Hannah Morrison, was born on Feb. 28, 1879, in the village of Morrison and lived practically all her life in that community. During the greater part of her life she was a member of the Morrison Presbyterian church and was always active in the church and community affairs. She was also a member of the Grundy Center Chapter of Eastern Stars, and Pythian Sisters.

Later in life she became the wife of E. G. Ensminger, a former Morrison banker and county official. He preceded her in death in 1947 as did also her father and mother and four sisters.

Her four surviving sisters with whom she had made her home for some years are Mrs. Charles Robinson, Mrs. Francis Barrick, Mrs. Maude Downey, and Mrs. Edith Downey, all of Reinbeck. The attendance of many relatives and friends, and beautiful floral tributes marked the services in the Morrison church Tuesday afternoon.
