Heye Boyenga Obituary

Funeral services were held Saturday, June 10, at 1:15 o'clock for Heye Boyenga at the home and later at the East Friesland Presbyterian church in German township.

Heye Boyenga was born October 8, 1858, in Hanswehrum, Ostfriesland, Germany. At the age of 18 he came to America and settled in Hardin county, Iowa.

In June of 1877 he was united in marriage to Mattie Boyenga. Mr. and Mrs. Boyenga celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1927. Four years later his wife passed away.

Mr. and Mrs. Boyenga lived on their farm near Ackley until 1925 when they retired from the farm and moved to Ackley.

In 1892 Mr. Boyenga joined the Eastfriesland Presbyterian church in German township, and remained a faithful member until the time of his death. For many years he served as a trustee of that church.

Mr. Boyenga passed away on Wednesday evening, June 7, 1950.

Surviving are four daughters: Mrs. Mattie Freese, Mrs. Florence Beurer and Mrs. Helen Arends of Ackley and Mrs. Anna Isebrands of Webster City; four grandchildren: Mrs. Dorothy Daum and Miss Marian Isebrands of Chicago; Harold Beurer of Ackley, and Mrs. Shirley Nott of Iowa Falls.
