Last Rites Friday For Henry Jaspers

Funeral services were held at the home on Friday afternoon at one o'clock and later at the Eastfriesland Presbyterian church in German township with Rev. Calvin Siemsen officiating. Burial was in the cemetery adjoining the church.

Henry Jaspers died at his home in Steamboat Rock Tuesday of last week. He had been sick a long time and was bedfast the past year. He was 76 years, 1 month and 5 days old at the time of his death. He was born in Grundy county and spent the early part of his life on a farm here. Later he moved across the line on a farm in Hardin county where he resided 34 years before retiring in Steamboat Rock.

In 1899 he and Antje Wilts were married. They became the parents of four children, one of whom died during infancy.

Surviving are his wife, three children, Abe, Florence, Mrs. Matthew Kannegieter, and Fannie, Mrs. Ralph Aikes of Cleves; one brother, Ben, and three sisters, Mrs. Bena Laube of Steamboat Rock, Mrs. Kate DeNeui of Wellsburg and Mrs. John Wilts of Steamboat Rock.
