Mrs. Etta Penticoff Dies Mon. Night

Mrs. Etta Penticoff, 75, of Grundy Center, died at 12:10 a.m. Tuesday, April 4, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. S. R. Greany, Route No. 1, Waterloo, where she had been bedfast for the past two months. Death resulted from the effects of several paralytic strokes suffered during the past four years.

She was born Feb. 1, 1875 near Pearl City, Stephenson County, Ill., the daughter of Amy and Calvin Barklow. On Oct. 20, 1897, she was married to Oliver S. Penticoff of Lanark, Ill. They had resided in Grundy Center since 1913, with the exception of a few years spent at Austin, Minn., and Wellsburg, Iowa. She was a member of the United Brethren church and a long time member of the Grundy Center W.R.C.

Her husband and one daughter, Lila, preceded her in death. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Elva Grabinski, Waterloo, Mrs. Arlie Jensen of Dike, Mrs. Gladys Greany, Waterloo, two sons, John of San Francisco, California, and Theodore of Grundy Center, one brother, Glenn Barklow of Pearl City, Ill., and one sister, Mrs. L. S. Klipping of Grundy Center, nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at the Coffman Funeral Home Thursday p.m. at two o'clock with Rev. J. L. Pace conducted services. Burial will be at the Grundy Center Cemetery.
