Jeff Lynch Dies At Hospital

Jeff Lynch died at the Deaconess hospital in Marshalltown last Saturday morning where he was taken some time before for care and treatment. Old age and complications were the cause of his death. He had been in failing health during the past year. He was 85 years old. He had been a resident for 64 years, coming to Grundy from Marshall county near Green Mountain.

Funeral services were held at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at the First Presbyterian church in Grundy Center. Rev. Gerben VanPutten conducted the service. Burial was in the Grundy Center cemetery.

Obituary
Thomas J. Lynch was born June 1, 1864, in Ogle county, Illinois. He came to a farm near Green Mountain with his parents at the age of two years.

March 3, 1886, he was married to Mary C. Kinsinger at Beaman. He spent most of his married life on a farm in Grundy county. On Sept. 1, 1944, he moved to Grundy Center. To this union were born eleven children. Surviving are the wife, and children: William of Garwin, Lewis of Coggon, Ralph of Marshalltown, Bert, Harry, Myron of Grundy Center, and Ross of Beaman, Mrs. Savannah Pierce, Nora Jontz, Orpha Smith and Myrna Thoren of Grundy Center; 35 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren; also a brother, Charley Lynch Sr., age 90, of Green Mountain.

On March 3, 1936, Mr. and Mrs. Lynch celebrated their golden wedding anniversary with many of their relatives and neighbors and a host of friends.
