Mrs. Ausbrand Janssen Died Last Friday

Mrs. Ausbrand Janssen died last Friday at her home 2 1/4 miles west of Wellsburg. Death was due to a heart ailment with which she had been afflicted for some time. She was 72 years and 6 months old at the time of her death.

Mrs. Janssen died on the farm where she was born July 27, 1877. Her maiden name was Geske Beninga. She was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ubbe Beninga, among the early residents of this part of the county. She grew up on this farm and resided there all of her life. She was married to Ausbrand Janssen February 27, 1901, and the couple began housekeeping on the farm that had always been her home. The couple were married in the parsonage of the First Christian Reformed church by Rev. Timmerman. They were members and attendants of this church during all of their married life.

Mr. and Mrs. Janssen are the parents of one surviving daughter, Mrs. Thomas Schafer. There are two grandchildren, Greta May and Richard Allen Schafer. Other members of Mrs. Janssen's family are one sister, Mrs. John Cooper, from Ventura, Iowa.

Funeral Service Tuesday
Funeral services were held on Tuesday afternoon at 12:30 at the home and at one o'clock in the First Christian Reformed church. Burial was in the cemetery adjoining the church. Rev. Joseph VandeKieft conducted the services. Music was by the men's quartet, Claus G. Primus, John Henry Primus, and Alfred and Harvey Eiten. Organist, Mrs. Arthur Cooper. Pallbearers were Henry J. Lindaman, John Heikens, Ebbo Heikens, Ben Eiten, O. O. Nederhoff and Ben E. Nederhoff.
