Mrs. Jacob Kiewiet Is Dead

Passed Away At Her Home In Holland Monday Morning

Mrs. Jacob Kiewiet died at her home in Holland about ten o'clock Monday forenoon. She was taken sick two weeks before. Her condition was serious from the beginning but later she got better and it was believed she would recover. On Sunday night she took a change for the worse and from that time on life ebbed away gradually.

Funeral services are being held at Drake's church this afternoon. Interment will be in the Drake church cemetery.

Mrs. Kiewiet was born in Ostfriesland, Germany. She came to this country with her parents when she was two years old. Her maiden name was Anna Magdalena Oltmans. The family moved to Forreston, Ill., where they resided for many years. At this place the deceased was married to Jacob Kiewiet on August 29th, 1877.

Thirty four years ago the Kiewiet family moved to Grundy county. They bought a farm in Colfax township and Mr. and Mrs. Kiewiet made their home there until they moved to Holland about six years ago.

Mrs. Kiewiet is survived by her husband and the following children: Mrs. Wm. Tack, Richard and Fred. One son, Oltman and two daughters, Minnie and Catherine preceded the mother to the land beyond. There are three surviving sisters. They are Mrs. Henrietta Bingeman, Shelly, Idaho, Mrs. Fanny Shaner, Lannark, Ill. and Mrs. Carrie Iters, Iowa Falls.
