Maggie Bakker, daughter of the late M. W. and Gertie Dieken Bakker, was born Dec. 20, 1878, in Grundy county.

She came with her parents to Grundy Center in 1906 and lived here until the death of her father, who died in August, 1924. Since that time she had made her home with the Lowe sisters in Stout, where she had a good home and the best of care.

About Christmas time her health began to fail, and continued to grow weaker until Tuesday forenoon, May 11, 1926, when she passed away, aged 47 years, 4 months and 21 days.

She is survived by three brothers, Walter M., George, and Menne, of Grundy Center, and two sisters, Mrs. H. Balsam, Stewartsville, Minn., and Mrs. Chas. Petersen, Grundy Center.

The funeral was held in the Reformed church at Stout, Rev. H. F. Sinning officiating, assisted by Rev. J. E. Drake. Burial took place at the Lincoln Center church in the family lot.
