Ubbe Hempen In Northeast Grundy Died Wednesday

Past 80 Years

Funeral Will Be on Friday

Ubbe Hempen passed away quite suddenly at his home three miles northeast of Stout yesterday forenoon.

Sick But An Hour
Mr. Hempen was in his usual good health when he got up yesterday morning. A few hours later he was taken sick. The family sent for the doctor. Mr. Hempen passed away as the doctor came into the sick room. Heart failure was the cause.

Mr. Hempen was a long time resident of northeast Grundy where he enjoyed a wide acquaintance. He was born in Germany, but resided in this country during the largest portion of his active life. He was eighty-five years old. Mr. Hempen's wife died three years ago. There are three surviving children; Mrs. Henry Freese, Mrs. Fred Marks and Mrs. Hilke Siebrands. Two brothers are living. They are John and Hempe, of this county. Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at the Lutheran church two miles north of Fern.
