David M. Rabbitt, 55 of Conrad formerly of Eldora, Iowa; passed away on Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo, Iowa. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 19, 2011 at the Conrad United Methodist Church in Conrad, Iowa, with burial following at the Conrad Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, February 18, 2011 at Creps-Abels Funeral Home in Eldora.
David was born on February 16, 1956 in Fort Dodge, Iowa to his parents Charles and Beverly Rabbitt. He graduated from LDF High School in Le Grand, Iowa with the class of 1974. He furthered his education by attending Wartburg College, University of Iowa, graduating from Buena Vista University with a Degree in Business.
David began his career in marketing working for several radio stations, among them KDAO, KCFI, KCRG and he was also employed by Heart of Iowa.
David became the proud father of Jennifer Rabbitt on June 12, 1986. David was a member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity. He was very involved in the Eldora community through the Rotary Club as a former president, the Eldora New Providence High School, as a member of the Eldora Performance Series and many other civic projects. David was an avid reader, fisherman and enjoyed the outdoors. He loved sports, especially the Hawkeye's. David cherished spending time with his grandsons, family and friends. He had a strong Christian Faith.
David is survived by his mother, Bev Rabbitt; daughter, Jennifer (her fiancé Cody Starn) Rabbitt; grandsons, Charlie and Emery; sisters DeeAnn Besch, Denise (David) Bonzer and Darci (Kurt) Steckelberg; nieces, Stephanie, Krysta, Alyssa and Rebecca; nephews, Matthew, Michael, Cole and Joel.
He is preceded in death by his father; grandparents and brother-in-law Michael Besch.
