Eric Alan Fischer, 39, of Stout passed away on Saturday, December 3, 2011 at Sartori Memorial Hospital in Cedar Falls, Iowa. Memorial services will be held on Thursday, December 8, 2011 at 10:30 A.M. at the Dike United Methodist Church in Dike. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 7, 2011 from 5 pm to 7 pm at the Engelkes-Abels Funeral Home in Dike. Burial will be at a later date. A memorial fund has been established.

Eric Alan Fischer was born to Neal Jay and Betty (Leverenz) Fischer on June 9, 1972 in Cedar Falls, Iowa. He grew up in Dike. Eric attended school in Dike and graduated from Dike New Hartford High School. He received a bachelor's degree from the University of Northern Iowa. Eric worked for Heartland Auto Rebuilders and Target Distribution. On September 14, 2011, Eric married Nicolle Wilson.

He enjoyed playing golf, watching football especially the Green Bay Packers, UNI Panthers and Iowa Hawkeyes. He enjoyed spending time with his family and beloved cats.

Eric is survived by his wife, Nicolle Fischer of Stout; parents, Neal and Betty Fischer of Dike; a sister Kim Fischer (Joe Bahr) of Waterloo; stepchildren; Skylar, Morgan, Madison and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents.

The family request that those attending the memorial service to wear there favorite team's apparel.
