Edith Lorraine Willer, 84, of Reinbeck, died Tuesday, September 18th, 2012, surrounded by her loving family. A memorial service will be held on Monday, September 24th, 10:30 A.M. at the United Methodist Church in Reinbeck with Pastor Terry Plocher officiating. A memorial visitation will be held on Sunday, September 23rd from 4 to 6 P.M. at the French-Hand Funeral Home in Reinbeck. Burial will follow memorial services at the Reinbeck Cemetery.

Edith was born February 12, 1928, in Hepburn, Iowa, the daughter of Ray and Iva (Williams) Winter. She attended a one room school house through the 8th grade and graduated from Villisca High School in 1946. She received her nursing degree in 1949. She devoted 47 years to nursing and worked at the Grundy County Memorial Hospital, the Reinbeck Nursing Home and Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo.

She married Merle T. Willer September 17, 1949, in Villisca, Iowa. Together they raised their three sons in Reinbeck. He preceded her in death August 13, 1979. In 1985, she married Charles (Charlie) Schoellen and they spent five years together traveling and golfing until his death in 1990.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church and was involved with the Ladies Circle and Bible Study.

Edie enjoyed golfing and playing cards at Oak Leaf Country Club. She looked forward to playing cards, going out to eat, and going to the movies with her friends. She loved quilting and baking for her family. Monster cookies and fried chicken dinner were her specialties.

Those left to cherish her memory include her sons; Jerry (Mary) Willer of Peosta, Iowa and Ivan (Georgene) of Bismarck, North Dakota; her grandchildren Michelle (special friend, Tim, and daughter Kira) of Chandler, Arizona Mindie and Renae Willer of Boulder, Colorado Destiny Willer of West Des Moines, Iowa and Jenna and Paige Willer of Peosta, Iowa; brother Orville Winter of San Jose, California; sisters Doris (Jack) Goodhard of Omaha, Nebraska and Ruth Wram of Ankeny, Iowa; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved son, Craig; her sister Tina Rose Weber; two brothers Ivan and Earl Winter.
