Whitten Pastor Dead
Following a long illness, which has been critical during recent weeks, Rev. W. W. Soule, pastor of the Methodist church, of Whitten, died at his home Tuesday.
Rev. Soule had been in the ministry about thirty years, having been admitted to full membership in 1896. In his early career he was a missionary among the Oneida Indians. He was transferred to the Upper Iowa Conference in 1907 and among his pastorates are included Winthrop, Arlington, Nora Springs, Sumner, Delhi and Gilman. He was sent to Whitten from Gilman in 1922.
Funeral services were held from the Whitten Methodist church Thursday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock.
Rev. Soule has a son in the Methodist pastorate, in the person of Rev. Leigh W. Soule, who is pastor of St. James church at Cedar Rapids.
