Obituary of Mrs. B. J. Stum

Annie Hostetter was born July 2, 1881, at Blaine, Pa., and died May 10, 1925, at her home near Amity, Iowa.

Following her marriage to Brandt J. Stum she lived for a year at Wilmerding, Pa., then moved to Aurora, Nebraska, where she resided for five years. For the past eleven years her home has been in this community. She had identified herself in early youth with the Lutheran church at Blaine, Pa., and in every community in which she lived she has always identified herself in church work and at the time of her death was an active member of the Amity United Presbyterian Church and has all along been a regular attendant and faithful worker. Mrs. Stum was called upon to endure great suffering the past months, perhaps far more than her friends and neighbors realized and yet under all her sufferings she never once lost faith in her Lord and Master, and rendered a beautiful testimony for Him.

She leaves besides a sorrowing husband two sons, Leslie and Charles Leroy, her mother, Mrs. Abram Hostetter, or Grundy Center, five brothers and one sister. "He lives long who lives well" and while none lived better than Annie Stum, still were the days allotted her far too few and short for those who knew her best, yet long enough to leave to them beautiful memories of her, a priceless heritage for their comfort and emulation.
