John Bonn, Old Resident of Grant, Passes Away

John H. Bonn died at his home in Dike Wednesday afternoon of last week after an illness of several weeks with heart trouble and complications. He had been failing in health the past year but it was not considered serious until a month or six weeks ago, when he was taken to the hospital in Waterloo for treatment. Failing to gain relief, he was brought home to be with his family when the end came. All that medical skill and loving hands could do was done, but to no avail, and the end came peacefully with his family at his bedside.

He leaves to mourn his loss his beloved wife, three sons and two daughters, Robert, Paul, Walter, Mary and Catharine, besides other relatives and a host of friends.

The funeral services were held at the home Friday morning at 9 o'clock and at St. Mary's Church, south of Dike, at 9:30, conducted by Rev. Father Boyle, of Grundy Center. The sympathy of the entire community will go out to the family in their hour of sorrow.
