Margaret Koch, 99, of Reinbeck, Iowa, died Thursday, June 13, 2013, at Parkview Manor in Reinbeck, Iowa. Funeral Services will be on Monday, June 17, 2013 at 1:30 P.M. at St. John Lutheran Church in Reinbeck, Iowa with Pastor Bruce Boyce officiating. Burial will follow at the Reinbeck Cemetery in Reinbeck. Visitation will be on Sunday, June 16, 2013 from 3:00 pm until 5:00 pm at the French – Hand Funeral Home in Reinbeck, Iowa. Memorials may be made to the family.

Maggie was born November 28, 1913 in the daughter of Jess and Deana (Penning) Sweet in Granda, MN. Maggie attended country school. On March 13, 1934 she was united in marriage to William Koch at the Lincoln Center Christian Reformed Church. After their marriage Maggie helped Bill on the farm and raise their children.

She was a member of the St. John Lutheran Church in Reinbeck for many years.

Maggie enjoyed gardening at which she had a green thumb for, working on word find books and crocheting. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family.

Margaret is survived by her daughter: Shirley Dufel of Hudson, Iowa; 8 grandchildren: Cindy and husband Mike Bowen, Connie and husband Mike Twente, Krissi and husband Pete Kacmarynski, Curt and wife Pam Mauer, Cliff and wife Lisa Mauer, Gordon Mauer, Nichole and husband Bill Buzynski, and Lee and wife Tammy Koch; 19 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, William; two sons, Leon and Robert Koch; son-in-law Robert Dufel; daughter-in-law Betty Koch; sisters, Edna Andorf, Jenny Sweet, Hazel Sweet; brother Henry Sweet.
