Obituary of Melvin Jacobsen

Melvin Martin Jacobsen was born on April 11, 1919. He was taken ill about a week before his death with inflammation of the bowels and kidneys. All that medical skill and loving hands could do for him was done, but of no avail and he departed this life on April 4, 1924, at the age of 4 years, 11 months and 24 days.

His remains were laid to rest in the cemetery at Fredsville on the afternoon of April 6th.

He was the second child and only son of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Jacobsen. He was a very loving child who endeared himself to all with whom he came in contact. His sweet smile and darling ways that gladdened the hearts of his relatives so many times during his short life with them will be greatly missed. But God in his infinite wisdom saw fit to take him to His heavenly home, to the city Eternal where there will be no more sorrow and weeping, the blessed little angel that he was here on earth.

He leaves to mourn his untimely death his father, mother, and one sister, Vera, seven years old, together with a large number of relatives.

"Dear little hands we miss them so,
All through the day wherever we go;
All through the night how lonely it seems,
For no little hands wake us out of our dreams.
We miss them all through the weary hours,
We miss them as others do sunshine and flowers;
Daytime or night-time, wherever we go,
Dear little hands, we miss them so."
