Charles J. Long, 71, of Beaman, IA passed away Thursday, January 9, 2014, at his residence. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, January 14, 2014, at the Conrad United Methodist Church, in Conrad. Reverend Gene Kubli will be officiating. Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday, January 13, 2014, at the Conrad Chapel of the Anderson Funeral Home, in Conrad. Interment will be at Conrad cemetery.

Chuck was born June 2, 1942 to Lee and Florence (Anderson) Long in Marshalltown, IA. He graduated from Beaman Conrad High School in 1960. Chuck was united in marriage to Barbara Judge on July 14, 1962 in Conrad. They later divorced. He was employed with Fisher Controls in Marshalltown for many years. He also farmed and drove truck for PCI. Chuck was a member of the Marshalltown Community Y. He loved spending time with his family and friends. Chuck also enjoyed working on his old tractors and trucks.

Chuck will be missed by his children; Christine Long of Des Moines, IA, Michael (Anne) Long of Boone, IA, Cindy (Kevin) Partlow of Menlo, IA, six grandchildren; Candice, Charles, and Melanie Long, Jack, Emily, and Travis Partlow, and a sister, Sharon (Roger) Hogle of West Des Moines, IA.
